WYB Mission Statement:
To provide an opportunity for children in the Worthington School District to build self-esteem by enjoying positive organized sports programs which are rooted in the principles of participation, sportsmanship, and skill development.
The board of directors for WYB takes our mission statement very seriously. We understand that involvement in youth sports can occupy a very significant place in a students athlete’s life. Unlike so many things, their involvement is generally something they CHOSE (unlike … school and yep! … parents, where they often have to make do). There are few times when adults get the opportunity to interact with young people when they are as self-motivated as they are while participating in their chosen sport. We feel a FULL participation experience requires a focus on both skills development and sportsmanship to properly acknowledge our responsibility as organizers.
