PLEASE NOTE: teams are not required to provide baseballs for their tournament games. If you previously read that you need to provide game balls, please disregard. Baseballs are provided for all games. We apologize for the erroneous information.

Out of town teams must contact the hotel listed on the hotel page for reservations by June 24, 2010.  Marriott has been provided your contact information as well and will contact you to  help with the reservation process.  


 All age groups are full and have been since the end of April.  Please contact Mindy Pauley at  614-330-0123  614-330-0123 if you would like to be added to the wait list.
 
Please see the list of registered teams as an attachment below as of 6/2010.  If your team is not listed, we were unable to accommodate you and any payments made will be returned.  All cancellations at this point are subject to the refund policy.
 
Insurance certificates must be submitted to Mindy  Pauley by June 24, 2010.
 
Some U10,U11 and U13's will begin play on Thursday night.  Please refer to the schedules page for your age group.

The 16th Annual Worthington Classic July 4th Tournament is scheduled for July 2-4, 2010 (some local teams may be required to play Thursday evening July 1).
 
Age groups are U-10 through U-14. This is a Nations Baseball sanctioned event qualifier.
 
Entry Fee is $425. No gate fees.

Teams will play two pool games and be seeded for single elimination bracket play which is scheduled to start on Saturday July 3rd. Championship games will be played Sunday July 4th. In some cases, depending upon the number of teams in a given age group, the semi-final games could be played Saturday July 3rd.
 
OUT-OF-TOWN TEAMS: Teams that plan to stay at hotels during the tournament are required to stay at specific host hotels, which offer special negotiated rates. Teams will be charged $200 for failure to stay at a host hotel. A list of these hotels and their rates will be posted on this site by mid-February. Hotel information must be provided to Mindy Pauley, who is the tournament's Registration Coordinator.

Perry Park : 2300 Collins Drive, Worthington, 43085
 
McCord Park : 333 E. Wilson Bridge Road, Worthington 43085
 
Linworth Park: 5971 Linworth Road, Worthington 43085. NOTE: There are two entrances to this park. The one closest to Dublin-Granville Road is closest to the baseball field.
 
Snouffer Road Park (located next to Perry Middle School) : 2341 Snouffer Road, Worthington 43085
 
Kilbourne High School:  1499 Hard Road, Columbus 43235. Follow drive to the right and go behind the school to playing fields.
  
 


****Nations Basbeball registration and insurance is required by all teams.  If you are not registered now, you will be asked to do so before final acceptance into the tournament. 


PLEASE NOTE:  all teams advance to bracket play. You do not have to win your pool -- all teams advance to bracket play! This does not mean that your pool games are meaningless because they absolutely impact how you are seeded in your bracket (see rules for seeding criteria).

With regard to pools, we try to place teams of similar competitiveness in the same pools based on the information and resources we have available to make those determinations. This is not an exact science and we will not make changes to the pools once they are rolled out.

General Information - IMPORTANT TO READ ***
 
Welcome to the 16th Annual Worthington Classic July 4th N.I.T. We are thrilled to have you play in this youth baseball tournament, which is sanctioned by Nations Baseball. 
 
This year's tournament, for ages U-10 to U-14, is scheduled for July 2nd through July 4th, 2010. The Worthington Classic N.I.T. is a qualifier for the Nations Baseball national tournaments. We award bids to nationals at each age group.

Premier/Major/AAA level teams are excluded from participation.We reserve the right to make decisions regarding entry acceptance for this tournament.
 
The format is pool play (2 games) followed by seeding for single-elimination bracket play. All teams advance to bracket. Seeding information is included in the tournament rules (see "Documents" below).
 

U-14 teams play on fields with dimensions of 54-ft. pitching distance and 80-ft. bases. We do not have a 60/90-ft. division. Ages U-10 to U-12 may not wear metal spikes/cleats. Rules may accessed below under "Documents."


Entry fee is $425.
 Any team that cancels/withdraws from the tournament within 30 days of the event (July 1, 2010) will forfeit a portion of the entry fee. See “Refund Policy”
 
Some local teams may be scheduled to play one game on Thursday July 1st.  Bracket play is scheduled to begin on Saturday.
 
Games are played at Worthington area parks. Alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited at all facilities.
 
Remember that this a youth sporting event and a recreational activity. We expect good sportsmanship. Inappropriate behavior by players, coaches, or fans will not be tolerated.
 
The Worthington area offers a great choice of hotels (with special negotiated rates), restaurants, and shopping. We encourage you to take in the fireworks as part of the July 4th weekend festivities. We hope you enjoy your visit!
 
You have the opportunity to pay the registration fee on-line with a credit card (secured). The registration process will lead you to that transaction. To register on-line, goo back to the top of this page where it states "Click here to register on-line." If you prefer to pay by check you can still register on-line.
